HookLogic often cites the statistic that consumers visit 2.7 sites on average before making a purchase. It’s fascinating to us both that the number is not higher or lower – conventional wisdom seems to think consumers either have a “one website” model for shopping online, or that they’re looking all over to find what they’re looking for and to get the best deal.
The reality is somewhere in between, and it’s proven out by the data. Our research shows that this number is remarkably consistent across categories, with little deviation.
