The HookLogic team ventured out to Seattle for the NRF’s Shop.org Annual Summit last week in Seattle, WA to meet with clients and industry friends and fill them in on all of the exciting things going on at HookLogic. While content at the conference ranged anywhere from mobile and email marketing to payment and shipping solutions, a few key themes stood out:
- Cyber Monday is big but, that’s not IT: Early December is a great time to really ramp marketing to the max. The Monday following Cyber Monday — “Green Monday” — is now an established holiday shopping day. In 2013, seven out of 10 surveyed retailers planned to offer a “Green Monday” special or promotion to consumers, according to Custora.
- Mobile must be on your mind: Retailers and brands must understand that a company’s mobile presence can be a customer’s first interaction with their ecommerce site. So, it has to be better than good – it has to be great.
- Consistency is crucial: Customers are more self-reliant than ever before. They demand their experience to be seamless across devices and channels – every interaction with a brand counts and needs to be considered. For marketers, this is a hefty undertaking but it must be placed high on the priority list.
